Microfinance institutions in Uzbekistan will now set deposit rates according to the same rules as commercial banks.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has updated its procedure for setting interest rates on deposits, extending its application to microfinance banks.

The Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan has amended the Regulation on the mechanism for setting interest rates on deposits accepted by banks.

According to these amendments, the term "commercial banks" in the document has been replaced with the more general term "banks." Furthermore, the regulation now explicitly states that it applies to microfinance banks as well.
