Mercedes-AMG presented the track-focused CLE 646 model

Mercedes-AMG demonstrated the extreme CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung coupe with a capacity of 646 horsepower. The model is being produced in only 30 copies, and moreover, all cars have already been pre-sold.

The new model became the second car of the exclusive Mercedes-Benz Mythos series. The first was the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed — an open two-seater car without a roof and windshield, which was produced in 250 copies.

Engineers installed a 4-liter gasoline V8 engine with two turbochargers and a flat-plane crankshaft. The engine delivers 646 horsepower and 850 N·m of torque and works in tandem with a nine-speed AMG SpeedShift TCT 9G transmission.

The coupe reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, and 200 km/h in 11.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 310 km/h, and in track mode, it takes 36.8 seconds to accelerate to 300 km/h.

The track width of the front and rear wheels has been increased by 60 mm, and the body itself received a reinforced construction. The body elements are mostly made of carbon fiber: the fender flares, hood, roof, sills, as well as the adjustable rear wing are made of this material.

Due to the extensive use of lightweight materials, the car's weight was reduced by approximately 170 kg. As a result, its weight is 1895 kg.

The coupe was equipped with ceramic brakes with discs measuring 420×40 mm at the front and 360×32 mm at the rear.

Special attention was paid to aerodynamics. The front diffuser can be manually switched between road and track modes, and the rear wing is also adjustable. Special louvers appeared on the front fenders to extract air from the wheel arches, and the channels next to the headlights direct the airflow to these openings.
