Media: Prince Harry wants to return to the UK with his family

Prince Harry, the youngest son of King Charles III of Great Britain, is planning to return to the UK from the United States with his wife Meghan Markle and their children. According to British media, the family will live in a private home outside London, while Archie and Lilibet may start attending school in Britain in September.

According to media reports, Prince Harry is planning to return to the UK with his family.

According to The Daily Telegraph and The Sun on August 19, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are preparing to return to the UK six years after they moved to California. This information was also reported by the BBC and the Press Association. However, so far, Harry and Meghan, as well as the British royal family, have not officially confirmed these plans. Therefore, it remains unclear whether they will move from the US permanently or will only live in the UK for a few months or years.

According to media reports, the royal family was also recently informed of Harry's plan to return. King Charles III learned about this on August 16. Sources say that the monarch is pleased that his youngest son's family will return and that he will have the opportunity to see his grandchildren - Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, more often.

Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle married in the spring of 2018. In early 2020, they resigned from their duties as senior members of the royal family and later moved to the United States. This process became known in the British press as “Megzit”.

After moving to California, Harry and Meghan made a number of harsh statements about the royal family. In particular, Meghan accused Harry’s relatives of racism. There were reports in the media that Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, also took it hard for her grandson and his wife to give up their royal duties.

Recently, however, relations between Harry and the royal family are said to have begun to soften. In 2025, the prince expressed his desire to reconcile with his family. During a visit to the UK in September of that year, he met with his father Charles III in London.

In July 2026, King Charles III met with his youngest son's family at the Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire, England, after a long break. Archie and Lilibet last saw their grandfather in 2022. According to press reports, Queen Camilla also attended the meeting at Highgrove.

Thus, if the information circulating in the British media is confirmed, the return of Harry and Meghan could be one of the most significant changes in relations with the royal family since the "Megxit" of 2020. So far, neither Buckingham Palace nor representatives of Harry and Meghan have officially commented on these reports.
