Massive attack on Ukraine: electricity restrictions being introduced
On the evening of September 30, Russian troops launched a massive attack on a number of regions of Ukraine. Residential buildings and warehouses were damaged in Kyiv, a business center was damaged in Odesa, and at least six people were injured in Sumy. Following strikes on energy facilities, restrictions on electricity consumption have been introduced in some regions starting October 1.

DW, citing local authorities, emergency services, and media, reports that a drone struck warehouses in Kyiv's Obolon district. In the Goloseyevo district, drone debris fell on an open area near a road, causing trees to catch fire.
According to news agencies, a Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building in the Solomenka district. The greatest damage was caused to a cafe on the first floor of the building. The blast wave and shrapnel also damaged other nearby establishments, windows of apartments, and parked cars.
In Odesa, a drone is reported to have struck a business center.
Consequences of the attack were also recorded in five districts of the Kyiv region. In the Boryspil district, a woman was injured. Residential buildings and cars were damaged in the Bucha, Obukhiv, Fastiv, and Bila Tserkva districts. In the Bila Tserkva district, an educational institution building was also damaged.
According to the Sumy Regional Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Russian forces struck the city of Sumy with guided aerial bombs. Preliminary data indicated that six people were injured. Private and multi-story houses were damaged, and a fire broke out on the roof of one of the buildings.
The national energy company "Ukrenergo" announced that a difficult situation has arisen in the system due to attacks on energy facilities. Therefore, on October 1, electricity consumption will be restricted in some regions of Ukraine.
Power usage restrictions for industry and businesses will be in effect from 08:00 to 21:00 local time. For all categories of consumers, hourly power outage schedules will be applied between 08:00–11:00 and 16:00–21:00.
Emergency power outage measures were introduced in Kyiv and three other regions as early as September 30.
