Mark Zuckerberg Acquires 200-Year-Old Irish Castle

Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have purchased the historic Strancally Castle in Ireland, according to The Guardian.

The exact price of the residence, located on the Blackwater River in County Waterford, has not been officially disclosed. However, media outlets have estimated the deal value at around €20-30 million.

Strancally Castle was reportedly built between 1825 and 1835. The three-story building has an area of about 1,500 square meters, and the area surrounding it is 178 hectares. It includes woodland, gardens and a private marina.

The new residence is located about 200 kilometers from Meta's European headquarters in Dublin. Zuckerberg's spokesman, Brian Baker, said the billionaire and his family are happy to preserve this historic monument and spend time in Ireland. The company currently has about 1,500 employees in the country.

Recall that in March this year, the billionaire bought a large estate on a private island near Miami for $ 170 million.
