Man's body found near English club's stadium

A man's body was found on the grounds of the Charlton Athletic football club in England. This was reported by Standard.co.uk.

A man's body was found at the Valley Stadium, where the London club Charlton Athletic plays its home games. An investigation is currently underway into the cause and details of the incident.

The club's official statement reads: "An investigation is underway following the discovery of a man's body at the Valley Stadium of Charlton Athletic on the morning of Tuesday, August 18. Law enforcement officers were called to the stadium following the incident. Sadly, the man died at the scene. The club would like to express its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased at this difficult time."

Investigators are investigating the possibility that the man fell from a height. So far, this incident is being treated as an unexpected death and the investigation is ongoing.

For information, Charlton won 2-1 over Derby County in the 1st round of the English Championship on Saturday, August 15. This match was held at this very stadium. Currently, the team is in 3rd place in the tournament table with 3 points. Charlton will play their next match on August 22 away against West Ham.
