Manchester United to offer Bruno a new contract - source

Manchester United do not want to be without Bruno: a new contract is being offered - source

Manchester United are in talks with midfielder Bruno Fernandes to sign a new contract. This was reported by The Athletic.

The 31-year-old's current contract runs until 2027 and has the option to extend it for another season. Nevertheless, Manchester United intend to keep Fernandes in the team for the long term.

The club's decision was also due to the serious interest of Galatasaray in the Portuguese player. There were reports that the Turkish club was ready to offer Fernandes a salary of about 20 million euros per year.

However, Manchester United do not plan to sell Bruno. The club sees him as one of the main leaders of the team and a future captain. Fernandes himself has stated that he is not against staying at the club for now.

For information, the Portuguese player has been playing for Manchester United since 2020. He has been the team's captain since 2023. Fernandes played a particularly important role for Manchester United in the 2025/26 season. He made 21 assists in the Premier League, setting a new record for assists in a single season in the history of the tournament. He also played in 35 matches in the EPL, scoring 9 goals.
