Lebanon has announced its intention to continue negotiations with Israel

The Lebanese government is intensifying diplomatic efforts to achieve the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the entire territory of the country. This was announced by the Republic's Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, during a cabinet meeting.

According to the head of government, negotiations with Israel are ongoing for the sake of the safe and dignified return of residents to the southern regions of the country. In addition, Lebanon intends to seek the release of all citizens taken prisoner during the conflict, as well as to clarify the fate of those missing.

Earlier, Israel handed over one prisoner to the Lebanese army with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the settlement of Ras al-Naqoura. According to local media, another 4 Lebanese citizens will return to their homeland. Their release is provided for by the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, signed on June 26 in Washington under the auspices of the United States.
