Leapmotor overtook Japanese companies in car sales

In the second quarter, the Leapmotor T03 model was sold the most, with its price in Europe starting from 15.9 thousand euros.

Leapmotor surpassed Japanese companies in car sales

The Chinese company Leapmotor sold 240,000 vehicles in the global market in the second quarter. This is a record result for the company, and for the first time, Leapmotor surpassed Japan's Subaru and Mitsubishi in terms of sales volume.

In the second quarter, Subaru sold 230,000 vehicles, while Mitsubishi sold 170,000.

Leapmotor's annual sales volume increased by 84 percent.

The company partners with the Stellantis concern in Europe. In the second quarter, the Leapmotor T03 model was the most sold, with its price in Europe starting from 15.9 thousand euros, and in China from 9.4 thousand to 12 thousand dollars. The prices of Subaru and Mitsubishi cars start from 25 thousand dollars in the Chinese market, and from 30 thousand euros in Europe.

Leapmotor was founded in 2015 and started manufacturing cars in 2018.

In 2023, the Stellantis concern acquired a 20 percent stake in the company.
