Kyrgyzstan refused to accept migrants from Afghanistan and Africa in exchange for work opportunities in the EU
EU countries offered Kyrgyzstan to accept migrants from Afghanistan and Africa in exchange for the opportunity for Kyrgyz citizens to find employment in Europe. Bishkek refused to discuss such an initiative, declared the country's Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.
"We are categorically against this. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan can independently go and work in Europe. We will not conduct targeted negotiations under such conditions," the minister said.
Kulubaev also noted that against the backdrop of the conflict, migrants who were in Russia have started moving to other countries. Among the destinations, he named Turkey and the US.
