Kyrgyz citizens will be granted 30-day visa-free entry to Thailand from September 15

Starting September 15, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be able to visit Thailand for tourism without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, according to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visa-free arrangement applies to Kyrgyz nationals who hold a valid national passport and is limited to tourist trips to Thailand. Under the new rules, Kyrgyz travelers entering Thailand by air or land may use the visa-free option no more than twice in each calendar year.

Every entry will still be subject to immigration checks. The visa exemption does not automatically mean admission to Thailand, and the final decision on entry will be made by the relevant Thai immigration authorities at the border. Kyrgyz citizens who plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days will still need to secure the appropriate visa before departure.

The same rule applies to those traveling to Thailand for reasons other than tourism. In such cases, Kyrgyz nationals must obtain the relevant visa in advance in line with Thai law. As a result, the new measure offers visa-free access only for short-term tourist visits, while Thailand’s regular visa and immigration rules remain in force for longer stays and other travel purposes.

Earlier, Daryo reported that Thailand will remove Uzbekistan from its visa-free entry program starting September 15 after changes to the country’s visa regulations, the Bangkok Post reported, citing the government-run Royal Gazette.

The decree, signed by Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Anuthin Chanvirakun and published on August 31, will take effect 15 days after publication. The revisions will end the current 60-day visa-free arrangement that now applies to citizens of Uzbekistan and 92 other countries.
