The Tashkent region has proposed projects to Japanese companies in the fields of IT, smart cities, furniture manufacturing, personnel training, and green technologies.
Japanese companies presented projects for the Tashkent region
The Hokim of the Tashkent region, Zoir Mirzaev, held a meeting with representatives of leading Japanese companies, during which the parties discussed the expansion of investment and technological cooperation in the region.
Among the proposed initiatives are the creation of an IT outsourcing center, the launch of a "smart city" pilot project in Nurafshan, and the formation of a Japanese furniture and design cluster.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on Japan's advanced experience in the field of digital transformation, green technologies, and industrial modernization, and also reviewed the investment opportunities of the Tashkent region.
Zoir Mirzaev emphasized that favorable conditions have been created in the region for foreign investors, including companies operating in the field of information technology.
The Japanese companies were proposed to establish an IT outsourcing center and implement a "smart city" pilot project in Nurafshan.
In addition, the introduction of digital solutions in public administration, public utilities, medicine, and the transport sector was discussed.
Special attention was paid to the development of the furniture industry. The parties considered a proposal to establish a Japanese furniture and design cluster in the "Saidovul" industrial zone. The project involves localizing the production of Japanese furniture and subsequently exporting the finished products to foreign markets.
The agenda of the meeting also included the issue of personnel training. It was proposed to establish vocational training and Japanese language learning centers in cooperation with Japanese companies. It is envisaged that young people will be able to undergo training there in the fields of IT, medical care, and furniture production in accordance with modern standards.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue practical cooperation in the discussed areas and to jointly implement promising projects.
