Japan to help Uzbekistan create a university clinic
Uzbekistan intends to open a joint university clinic with Japan, which will combine educational, research, and medical activities. The prospects for implementing the project were discussed in Tashkent during a meeting between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and a delegation from the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation (JUSRF) led by Yoshitsugu Minagawa, the press service of the MIIT reported.
The creation of such an institution will allow for the training of qualified medical personnel using advanced Japanese experience and modern techniques, as well as providing high-tech assistance to the population. The exact location of the future center, the volume of investment, and the implementation timeline will be determined by the parties during further consultations.
In addition to healthcare, the negotiations, which were attended by representatives of Japanese companies, covered issues of industrial cooperation, localization of production, and attracting Japanese businesses to the special economic zone in Samarkand. The partners also agreed to develop public-private partnership mechanisms in infrastructure, education, and tourism based on a memorandum signed in the summer of 2024.
