Jaguar has unveiled the Type 01 electric vehicle, the most powerful in its history
The British company Jaguar has presented the Type 01 production electric vehicle. The new model has become the most powerful car in the history of the British brand, and it will go on sale next year.
The new car is a production version of the Type 00 concept, whose design received mixed reviews among car enthusiasts and experts. The model features a long hood, slim LED optics, a panoramic glass roof, an elongated rear overhang, a prominent spoiler, and 23-inch wheel rims. However, unlike the two-door prototype, the production fastback was developed as a four-door gran turismo.
In the new model, the traditional radiator grille has been replaced by a cover with horizontal stripes. At the same time, the electric vehicle has no rear window. A similar solution was previously used in the Avatr 12 and Polestar 4 models. The aerodynamic drag coefficient is 0.23. This is a record figure for Jaguar cars.
The main feature of the interior is a long central console that stretches across the entire cabin and divides it into separate zones. It has no traditional buttons. The main functions and systems of the car can be controlled via a 7-inch screen and touch panels on the steering wheel.
At the same time, the Jaguar Type 01 does not have a multimedia system screen. All necessary indicators, including navigation data, are displayed on a huge digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 24 inches. Another screen serves as a digital rear-view mirror, to which the image is transmitted via a camera mounted on the roof.
The Type 01 is built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) platform, which is based on an 850-volt architecture. The car is equipped with three electric motors with a total capacity of 1030 horsepower and 1365 Nm of torque. The car reaches a speed of 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. The range of the electric vehicle on a single charge is 720 km. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.
Acceptance of orders for the new model will begin in 2027. The initial delivery of cars to customers is planned for the second half of next year. The price of the model in the UK starts at 130,000 pounds sterling (approximately 2 billion soums as of October 7, 2026).
