It was revealed that the pilot of the plane in India was flying under the influence of drugs

He lost control during the flight, and the plane suddenly lost altitude.

In India, the captain of an Air India passenger plane almost crashed after being under the influence of drugs.

The incident occurred on August 4. According to The Times of India, the captain of an Airbus A320neo plane flying from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi, India, suddenly felt unwell and was given emergency medical care by a flight attendant.

At that moment, the airliner lost altitude and descended sharply. Videos from the cabin showed the cargo door opening, items scattering, and some passengers being injured.

After the plane landed at the airport, 20 passengers and four crew members sought medical attention, and 17 people were hospitalized.

Initially, the airline management tried to hide the true cause of the incident, explaining this by the fact that the plane had fallen into a turbulence zone. However, during the investigation, it was found that the first pilot of the plane had consumed marijuana. The test confirmed the presence of the drug in his system.

It is noted that in this situation, only the second pilot took control and guided the plane to its intended destination, which saved him from a plane crash.
