According to the "Dunyo" information agency, the negotiations were held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan with Yohei Higashida, Director General of the Energy and Natural Resources Finance Department at JBIC.

The parties reviewed opportunities for attracting Japanese investments into priority sectors of Uzbekistan's economy and expanding financial cooperation. The results of the JBIC delegation's recent visit to Uzbekistan were also discussed.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the establishment of operations in Uzbekistan by leading Japanese banks such as MUFG, SMBC, and Mizuho.

Furthermore, the issue of utilizing JBIC's assistance in attracting Japanese industrial companies to a special economic zone planned to be established in Uzbekistan was raised.

A preliminary agreement was reached on identifying priority sectors and project types for the bank, as well as jointly developing specific projects that meet its financing requirements.

Special attention during the negotiations was also paid to the development of the infrastructure of "New Tashkent". Opportunities for implementing joint projects in power supply, centralized heating systems, drinking and wastewater infrastructure, urban transport, and engineering-communication networks were discussed.
