It has been revealed which region in Uzbekistan was allocated the most loans
In Uzbekistan, 45 percent of the loans issued by banks fall to the share of the city of Tashkent. Information about this is provided in the report of the Central Bank.
As of August 1, 2026, the total loan balance in banks exceeded 644.63 trillion soums. This figure increased by 68.4 trillion soums compared to the same period in 2025.
By region, the most loans to businesses and the population were allocated in the city of Tashkent — 292.8 trillion soums. A year earlier, this figure was 286.4 trillion soums. In the subsequent places, the share of loans allocated in Fergana (28.4 trillion soums), Tashkent (27.6 trillion soums), and Samarkand (27.5 trillion soums) regions is relatively high.
In the remaining regions, the loan balance is as follows:
Republic of Karakalpakstan — 22 trillion soums;
Andijan region — 30.3 trillion soums;
Bukhara region — 28.56 trillion soums;
Jizzakh region — 21 trillion soums;
Qashqadaryo region — 30.2 trillion soums;
Navoiy region — 24 trillion soums;
Namangan region — 33.3 trillion soums;
Surxondaryo region — 24.7 trillion soums;
Sirdaryo region — 21 trillion soums.
However, figures related to the Khorezm region were not provided.
In total, 404.8 trillion soums of the loan balance fall to the share of entrepreneurs, and 239.8 trillion soums to the population. In January–July, the loan debt of enterprises increased by 5.5 percent, and that of individuals by 8.9 percent.
Earlier, it was reported that overdue loans to banks had increased sharply.
