International YONAR Festival to Be Held in Karakalpakstan
On September 16–19, 2026, the international "YONAR" festival dedicated to experimental art and creative tourism will be organized in the area of the "Borsakelmas" salt flat in the Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan.
The festival will bring together contemporary art, creativity, creative industries, and tourism sectors. The main goal of the event is to introduce the natural landscapes and tourism potential of Karakalpakstan to a foreign audience.
Within the framework of the festival, information tours will be organized for representatives of local and foreign media, bloggers, and content creators. It is planned to promote the photo and video materials prepared during the trips on international and digital platforms.
Necessary infrastructure will be created in the event area for the guests of the festival. In particular, catering points and sanitary-hygienic facilities will be established, and access to drinking water will be provided.
Additionally, it is planned to install at least 15 yurts in the festival area.
Holding the "YONAR" festival is aimed at harmonizing contemporary art and creative industries with the tourism promotion of Karakalpakstan's natural and cultural potential.
