Intellectual video surveillance system - a reliable partner of Uzbekistan Railways

Uzbekistan railway transport plays an important role in the country's economy, ensuring freight transit between Europe and Asia, as well as domestic transportation. In the context of increasing freight traffic and growing requirements for traffic safety and cargo preservation, the implementation of modern automated control systems is particularly relevant. We present an innovative complex for video recording and analysis of rolling stock, capable of bringing railway transport management to a qualitatively new level.

The system is designed to conduct commercial inspections of trains, wagons, and cargo placed on open rolling stock; for visual detection by the operator of commercial defects that pose a threat to traffic safety and the safety of transported cargo (when the train moves through the control zone or during the review of the video archive); for the collection, processing, and storage of commercial inspection results obtained by the system; and to improve working conditions and ensure the safety of personnel conducting commercial inspections.

Thanks to five video surveillance modules, the operator has the ability to monitor the condition of wagons and cargo transported on open rolling stock, where monitoring is carried out directly as the train moves through the control zone or subsequently reviewed from the video archive. This allows for the timely detection of any emergency situations, ranging from cargo displacement to damage to the wagons.

One of the main functions is the automatic counting of wagons and recording data into the archive. The system works correctly even during stops, reverse movement, and when receiving the train regardless of its direction of movement. This is particularly important for Uzbekistan Railways due to the high intensity of shunting operations.

The system recognizes the inventory numbers of the wagons. Additionally, the movement speed of each wagon is determined, as well as the presence, quantity, and nominal length (in feet) of ISO containers transported on flatcars. Given the growing container traffic through the territory of Uzbekistan, this function is an indispensable tool for commercial inspection and accounting.

The real-time generation of wagon images from coupler to coupler (views from two sides and from above) provides a complete picture of the train set. The operator can mark a wagon of interest for quick search and viewing, creating an archive for individual channels. The process of viewing the train's passage and recording video data into the archive starts automatically upon the train clearance signal.
