Installation of smart cameras in schools in Tashkent has begun

Work has begun on installing smart cameras in Tashkent schools as part of the "Smart School" system. The press service of the capital's administration reported this on August 14.

According to the report, the first stage of implementing the "Smart School" system as part of the "Sergeli Experience" project in the 2026/2027 academic year is being implemented as a trial. Modern smart cameras have been installed in 177 out of 345 classrooms for grades 9-11 of general secondary schools in the Sergeli district.

This project will create opportunities for automatic detection of student attendance, increase school security, detect unauthorized persons, and analyze student activity in class. The installed cameras are being integrated into the Situation Center established in the Sergeli district administration through special software.

According to the plan, the installation of cameras in the remaining classrooms and their integration into the Situation Center will be completed by August 25, 2026.

This system, which is being developed as part of the "Sergeli Experience", is planned to be gradually introduced to all general secondary schools in Tashkent in the future.

According to the Sergeli district administration, student attendance and school entry and exit processes will be automatically monitored using smart cameras. A system for sending instant messages to parents about the arrival and departure of children will also be established.

It was announced in May that attendance at schools will be monitored using smart cameras. The Ministry of Preschool and School Education stated that this system will be of great importance not only for the school community, but also for parents in online monitoring of their children's education and participation in classes, as well as ensuring their safety.
