India and Uzbekistan will create a coordination council.

India and Uzbekistan have agreed to establish a coordination council to elevate the level of bilateral dialogue. This mechanism will coordinate the work of the two countries' foreign ministries, Sibi George, Secretary (Western) of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, announced at a press briefing following the Indian Prime Minister's state visit to Uzbekistan.

Sibi George noted that various dialogue mechanisms already exist between India and Uzbekistan, such as consultations between the Foreign Ministries and intergovernmental cooperation at the level of Secretaries and Deputy Ministers. During the recent visit, a decision was made to elevate the status of these mechanisms: dialogue between the Foreign Ministries will now take place at the ministerial level, and the comprehensive partnership will be implemented according to an agreed roadmap. "The roadmap will be implemented under the guidance and oversight of the Foreign Ministers," Sibi George emphasized.

The diplomat also clarified that meetings of the intergovernmental commission, previously held at the level of Secretaries and Deputy Ministers, will now be held at the ministerial level. According to him, the existence of an approved roadmap and its consistent implementation under the supervision of the foreign ministries will facilitate the further development of cooperation between the countries.
