In what areas do enterprises with foreign investments operate?

There are nearly 21,000 enterprises with foreign investment operating in Uzbekistan, most of which operate in trade and industry.

Foreign-Invested Enterprises in Uzbekistan: Distribution by Sector

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2026, there were 20,973 foreign-invested enterprises operating in Uzbekistan. The highest concentration of such enterprises is found in the trade and industrial sectors.

Trade leads in the number of foreign-invested enterprises, with 7,450 companies. 4,098 such enterprises operated in the industrial sector.

A significant number of foreign-invested companies were also present in the information and communications sector, with 1,764 enterprises. The construction sector included 1,732 enterprises with foreign capital.

A total of 920 enterprises operated in accommodation and food services, and 646 in transportation and storage. Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries comprised 532 enterprises.

There were 241 foreign-invested enterprises in healthcare and social services. The remaining 3,590 enterprises were engaged in other economic activities.

Thus, trade and industry together accounted for 11,548 enterprises, representing approximately 55.1% of the total number of foreign-invested enterprises.
