Construction of the new "Khalka" substation and power transmission lines with a total length of 285 km completed in Uzbekistan
In the Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, construction work has been completed as part of a large-scale project to modernize the power transmission system. The total cost of the project, implemented with the participation of the World Bank, amounted to $171.4 million.
One of the main facilities was the new 500 kV "Khalka" substation with a capacity of 1,602 MVA. In addition, 220 and 500 kV overhead power transmission lines with a total length of 285 kilometers were built.
In particular, 213 kilometers of 220 kV lines and 72 kilometers of 500 kV lines were laid.
Currently, specialists are working on connecting the new facilities to the Unified Power System of Uzbekistan, commissioning equipment, and preparing the infrastructure for operation.
The implementation of the project will increase the capacity of the national power system, improve the efficiency of electricity distribution, and ensure more stable operation of electrical networks.
The new infrastructure is of particular importance against the backdrop of an annual increase in electricity consumption. It will also create additional opportunities for connecting new generating capacities and optimally distributing the load between regions.
Thus, the completion of the construction of the "Khalka" substation and high-voltage lines will become an important stage in strengthening the country's energy infrastructure.
