New fraudsters promising to organize a trip to Umrah for thousands of dollars have been detained in Uzbekistan

In Samarkand and Namangan Region, further attempts to illegally organize a minor pilgrimage were thwarted. The perpetrators promised to send people to Saudi Arabia and demanded thousands of dollars for it.

Thus, in Samarkand, a representative of a family business offered to organize an Umrah trip for a citizen and two of his relatives. For the trip and the opportunity to perform all the pilgrimage rites, she demanded 3.4 thousand dollars.

Upon receiving 3 thousand dollars, the woman was detained by officers of the State Security Service and the regional department of internal affairs. A criminal case has been initiated against her, and an investigation is underway.

Another case occurred in Namangan Region. The head of an LLC operating in the Namangan District promised a resident of the Uchkurgan District to illegally organize Umrah for 1.35 thousand dollars. He was detained by SSS and internal affairs officers while receiving an advance payment of 1.2 thousand dollars. A pre-investigation check is currently being conducted.

The State Security Service urged citizens to check for a license among pilgrimage organizers, not to trust doubtful offers, and to be cautious with money transfers.

Earlier, another organizer of an illegal Umrah trip was detained in Fergana Region.
