Uzbekistan approves 1 million soum payment to needy families for the heating season

It was previously reported that Uzbekistan intended to provide certain needy families with a one-time assistance payment of 1 million soums. Now, this measure has been officially secured by a presidential decree dated October 28, 2026 (UP-236). The payments are scheduled for November as part of the 2026/2027 heating season.

The funds will be allocated in November 2026. Support will be provided to families from the Social Register, as well as other households that meet the need criteria.

In particular, the income per family member must not exceed two minimum consumer expenditures (MCE).

Separate conditions have been established for residents of apartment buildings with centralized heating. In Karakalpakstan and the regions, the per capita income must not exceed two MCEs. In Tashkent, this threshold is set at three MCEs.

Assistance is also provided for elderly people living alone and people with disabilities who require care. Families raising orphans or children left without parental care will also receive it.
