In Uzbekistan, 1.7 trillion soums were directed towards research

In 2025, Uzbekistan's expenditures on scientific research grew by 6.8%, while the number of research specialists increased by 28.3%.

In Uzbekistan, 1.7 trillion soums allocated for research

In 2025, 1,680.6 billion soums, which is about 1.7 trillion soums, were allocated for research and development in Uzbekistan. These data are provided by the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Compared to 2024, funding for research and development increased by 106.5 billion soums, which corresponds to an increase of 6.8%.

In parallel, the number of specialists engaged in research and development in the country has increased. In 2025, their number reached 43.1 thousand people.

Over the year, this figure increased by 9.5 thousand people, or by 28.3%, compared to 2024.

Out of the total number of research specialists, 17.4 thousand people were women. Their share reached 40.4%.

The number of men was 25.7 thousand people, or 59.6% of the total number of researchers.

Thus, in 2025, the growth in the number of specialists engaged in research and development activities was accompanied by an increase in the volume of corresponding funding.
