In the Namangan region, a waste processing plant will be built for more than 140 million dollars

A waste processing plant worth over $140 million will be built in the Namangan region

In the Chust district of the Namangan region, construction is underway on an enterprise for processing household waste and generating electricity. The total cost of the project is $141.5 million.

The project is being implemented by Everbright Environmental Energy Namangan together with Chinese investors on the territory of the "Zarafshon" mahalla.

Once operational, the enterprise will be able to process 547.5 thousand tons of household waste annually and produce 310 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. Out of this volume, 254 million kilowatt-hours are planned to be supplied to the power grid. According to specialists, this amount of electricity will be enough to cover the annual needs of nearly 300 thousand residents.

In addition, the plant will provide permanent employment for 180 people.

Earlier, the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development reported that 11 similar plants would be built in the regions of Uzbekistan.
