Movement of vehicles not designed for passenger transport will be restricted in the historical part of Bukhara

The movement of vehicles not designed for passenger transport will be restricted in the historical part of Bukhara. This is specified in the decision of the khokim of the city of Bukhara.

In some cases, incidents of damage are being observed as a result of movement on passenger transport vehicles that are not permitted in the territory of cultural heritage sites, posing a threat to the health of foreign and local tourists, as well as the personal safety of excursionists.

The number of vehicles not designed for passenger transport and not complying with current legislation, used by citizens and certain legal entities, has sharply increased in the area of Bukhara from the Ark Fortress, along Haqiqat Street, to the Lyabi-Khauz ensemble.

As a result, this has led to chaotic movement as road users, posing a threat to the free and safe movement of visiting foreign and local tourists, and resulting in cases of injury to the health of pedestrians.

According to the decision, all urgent measures will be taken to restrict the movement of passenger transport and individual mobility devices that do not comply with legislative requirements, including electric scooters, rickshaws, mopeds, 4-wheeled bicycles, e-scooters, karts, horses, and camels, in the area from the Ark Fortress, along Haqiqat Street, to the Lyabi-Khauz ensemble.

Liability measures established by law will be applied for cases of allowing passenger transport using vehicles that do not meet the requirements established by legislative acts for passenger transport.

The decision will come into force on October 1, 2026.
