In Tashkent, the collateral-free credit limit for entrepreneurs will be increased to 200 million soums

In Tashkent, the collateral-free loan limit for entrepreneurs wishing to start a business will be increased to 200 million soums. This was stated at a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to the socio-economic development of Tashkent city, increasing investment and employment, and creating modern infrastructure in neighborhoods.

It was emphasized that there is a need to effectively use new opportunities to develop small businesses and the services sector in neighborhoods.

Opportunities to adapt the first floors of multi-apartment buildings for trade and service activities are being expanded. At the same time, the collateral-free loan limit for entrepreneurs wishing to start a business in Tashkent city will be increased from 100 million soums to 200 million soums.

Using these opportunities in the Olmazor district, it was decided to support 300 new entrepreneurs and create a thousand jobs this year alone. The task was set to spread this experience to other districts of the capital and provide 20,000 residents with profitable jobs by the end of the year.

There are 504 business entities in the 305-hectare industrial zone in the territory of Miskin and Ibrohim Ota neighborhoods. Since most of them are located in 1-2 story buildings, the economic potential of the area is not being fully utilized.

It was pointed out that there is an opportunity here to increase the number of jobs from the current 35,000 to 100,000, and the export volume to 600 million dollars.

It was decided to start new projects that create high added value in the industrial area by offering entrepreneurs convenient financial instruments such as industrial mortgages, loans, and leasing.

The issue of strengthening the connection between the labor market demand and the personnel training system in the Olmazor district was also discussed.

Today, employers in the district need more than 4,000 workers with secondary specialized education and about 1,000 workers in areas that do not require special education.

Therefore, a 400-seat technical school for information technology and advanced innovations will be established on the basis of the Olmazor Professional Skills Center, and a modern vocational center will be organized in the building of the former Tashkent College of Architecture and Construction. Other existing buildings will also be used effectively for vocational training purposes.

To strengthen targeted preparation for the foreign labor market, it is planned to organize German language courses for 500 people with private training centers of Germany, and to train medical staff for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Also, projects will be implemented to attract 20 large recruiting companies from Germany, Japan, Korea, and Great Britain, and to place 1,500 citizens per year in seasonal jobs with French companies. The task was set to start work on establishing an innovation cluster combining an IT park, high-tech industry, and educational facilities on an area of 42 hectares in the Youth Town by the end of the year.
