A historical building constructed in 1912 in Tashkent has been transformed into the Center for Contemporary Art
The building of the former diesel power station, built in 1912 and located in the center of Tashkent, has been restored and transformed into the Center for Contemporary Art.
This facility, which had been neglected for many years, is considered one of the unique examples of the capital's industrial architecture.
Instead of using the historical building for commercial purposes, a decision was made to turn it into a venue that serves the development of culture and art. The project was implemented on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The new center is aimed at supporting local artists and young researchers, expanding international cooperation, and creating new opportunities for creators.
The center will begin its activities with the "Hikmah" exhibition. It will showcase the creative works of 11 artists, reflecting the connection between the wisdom of the past, the memory of ancestors, and the aesthetics of the modern era.
