In the Denov district of Surxondaryo region, two people died as a result of a Gentra car colliding with a train at an unguarded railway crossing.
The incident took place on August 29 at around 17:13 at an unguarded railway crossing passing through the territory of the Ozod neighborhood in the Denov district.
According to Nurali Jurayev, commander of the patrol service unit of the Sariosiyo department of the Surxondaryo Region Transport Safety Department, the collision occurred due to the driver's negligence.
A transit train traveling on the Dushanbe — Volgograd route collided with a Gentra car crossing the railway tracks. As a result of the incident, two female passengers inside the car, aged 47 and 30, died.
A 2-year-old girl and the driver who were inside the car were injured. They were taken to the emergency medical department of Denov district, where they received first aid. It is reported that their condition is currently good.
According to witnesses, the driver did not follow traffic rules. According to Alimardon Boboyev, a resident of the neighborhood, the car first stopped, then moved back slightly, and then continued on its way. After that, the train hit the car. Following the incident, local residents rescued the driver and the little girl inside the car and sent them to the hospital.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident. Currently, a pre-investigation inquiry is underway.
Local residents are asking to install a barrier or station a guard at this railway crossing. It is also mentioned that the utility pole damaged as a result of the collision needs to be replaced.
