A group of drug traffickers with 40 kilograms of opium was detained in Surkhandarya. Video

In the Denau district of the Surkhandarya region, law enforcement agencies conducted a major special operation to intercept more than 41 kilograms of opium. Security forces stopped a Cobalt vehicle that had entered the region with a shipment of drugs, after which they used the controlled delivery method to detain those who were supposed to receive the cargo.

The operation was carried out on August 21 as part of the second stage of the "Koradori-2026" operational and preventive event.

Officers of the Surkhandarya Regional Internal Affairs Department, together with representatives of the State Security Service and the district internal affairs department, received operational data and stopped a Cobalt vehicle traveling from the Tashkent region towards Denau. During the search of the car, 41 packages containing the substance were found.

The law enforcement officers then continued the operation using the controlled delivery method. As a result, several people who arrived to pick up the substance were detained. One of them arrived with an angle grinder to cut the hidden cargo out of a gas cylinder.

A criminal case has been initiated on this fact under paragraph "a" of Part 6 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code.
