Criminal group arrested for trying to sell nearly 14 kg of "opium"
The narcotic substance was imported from Tajikistan and hidden in the Jizzakh region.
A criminal group that attempted to sell almost 14 kg of opium was detained.
The Tashkent Regional Department of the State Security Service carried out operational measures in the Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions as part of the fight against illegal drug trafficking.
During the event, the temporary residence of a previously under surveillance resident of Tashkent, born in 1985, with a previous conviction, in the Syrdarya district was inspected with the participation of witnesses. It was found that there was a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan born in 1983 and another citizen born in 1962, living in the Kashkadarya region, previously convicted for a crime related to drug trafficking.
During the investigation, it was revealed that these 3 individuals had colluded to obtain a large amount of material wealth by obtaining narcotics hidden in a secret place in the Yangiabad district of the Jizzakh region by drug couriers from the neighboring Republic of Tajikistan, and by selling and distributing them.
As a result, the operational operation was continued, and a total weight of 13 kg 653 g of "opium" was found in the secret place and documented in the procedural order.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against these individuals and investigative actions are being conducted.
