Riyadh airport closure extended in Saudi Arabia following Houthi attacks

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh will remain closed following a series of attacks by Yemeni Houthis. Exact timelines for the resumption of its operations have not yet been announced.

According to the BBC, citing a source at an airline operating flights to the Persian Gulf countries, aviation authority notices indicate the airport will be closed at least until the end of the workweek in Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, authorities have suspended metro train service to three stations serving the airport.

The restrictions were introduced against the backdrop of an escalating security situation in the country.
