An Uzbek driver who collided with 12 cars in Russia, causing the deaths of three people, has been sentenced to 9 years in a penal colony. "Kommersant" reported this, citing the verdict of a district court in the city of Ufa.

The 28-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan did not possess a driver's license. He was found guilty of causing the death of two or more people through negligence (Paragraph "v" of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The incident occurred in October 2025. The Uzbek man was driving a Shacman dump truck without holding the appropriate driver's license.

He exceeded the established weight limit for the transported cargo, failed to take into account the condition of the vehicle and road conditions, and was speeding.

As a result, the truck lost control and collided with 12 cars as it approached the regulated intersection of Ufa Highway and Chudskaya Street. Three people died and one passenger was seriously injured as a result of the mass accident.

The court banned the Uzbek man from driving vehicles for three years after serving his sentence.
