In New York, the view of the twin towers was recreated using drones in memory of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Light-emitting drones embodied the silhouette of the twin towers in full size. The 2,977 drones used symbolically represented the number of people who died in the terrorist attack. The project, titled "2977 Lights Over the Hudson," was organized by Sky Elements with the support of the New York Foundation for the Arts.

Rescuers, firefighters, police officers who survived the September 11 tragedy, as well as relatives of the victims, participated in developing the visual concept. The show was presented next to the annual installation held at the site of the twin buildings.

In 2001, 19 terrorists associated with Al-Qaeda hijacked four passenger planes, crashing two of them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and another into the Pentagon building. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after passengers revolted against the terrorists. New York's first Muslim mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani, is expected to participate in an event dedicated to the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack on September 11.

Recently, the city administration released documents regarding the air quality after the September 11 terrorist attacks. They indicate that there were hazardous substances in the air, although the public was assured at the time that the air quality was safe.

According to the documents, there were high levels of asbestos and cancer-causing benzene in the air for several months. However, City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and his successor Michael Bloomberg maintained that the air quality was safe for residents.
