In New Tashkent, 20 thousand residential buildings are planned to be commissioned by the end of the year

By the end of 2026, New Tashkent intends to commission 20 thousand residential buildings designed for at least 70 thousand people. In addition, a stadium for 55 thousand spectators and new buildings for ministries and departments are being constructed in the city.

The president announced this during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the city under construction.

According to the president's press service, the head of state noted that the development of New Tashkent should go hand in hand with the creation of the necessary infrastructure — from sports and commercial facilities to educational and medical institutions.

One of the largest objects will be a 55,000-seat stadium that meets FIFA requirements. Next year, it will become one of the main venues for the Under-20 FIFA World Cup.

Taking into account the growing population, it is necessary to determine the demand for hotels, cafes, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The president instructed to prepare proposals for the development of these areas.

At the same time, the relocation of state bodies to New Tashkent continues. Currently, the ministries of construction, transport, and energy are housed in lightweight structures. In addition, nine buildings are being constructed for 2.6 thousand employees of ministries and departments.

The Prime Minister was instructed to organize the relocation of the remaining ministries and state organizations to New Tashkent.

The existing buildings of state bodies in the capital are planned to be sold on the condition of their preservation and necessary repairs. Their demolition and reconstruction are not allowed.

Earlier, during a visit to New Tashkent, Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated the need to accelerate the construction of the city and to attract private investment more actively. According to him, the pace of business participation in the project does not yet correspond to the available opportunities.
