Investigators are considering a financial conflict between partners as the main theory of the murder.

The entire family of a famous singer was killed in Mexico

His pregnant wife, three-year-old daughter, nanny, and dog also lost their lives.

According to CNN, police have already detained two suspects, one of whom is the musician's friend and business partner.

The murder took place on the night of September 2 in the Zona Esmeralda neighborhood of the State of Mexico. Neighbors heard screams and gunshots and contacted the police. Law enforcement officers found the bodies of four people and a shot dog at the crime scene. The Melendez family's six-year-old son was also found alive and unharmed in the apartment. The perpetrators were identified using surveillance cameras. On September 3, Diego Sebastian, the musician's friend and business partner who co-owned the property with Melendez and rented it out via Airbnb, was arrested. The second suspect is Gerardo N., whom police believe helped Diego Sebastian carry out the murder plan.

Investigators are considering a financial dispute between the partners as the main motive for the murder. This assumption is also strengthened by the fact that a few hours before the murder, Jonathan Melendez warned one of his close friends that he was going to have a difficult meeting with his business partner and asked to notify the police if he did not respond for a long time. So far, both men have refused to testify. Members of the Mexican music community and the band Camilo Septimo expressed their condolences to the victim's family and friends.
