In Karakalpakstan, the volume of loans for livestock projects will be increased up to 50 billion soums

Additional opportunities will be created for establishing large complexes in livestock farming. This was announced at a meeting chaired by the President, dedicated to the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan.

In May, 1.6 trillion soums in resources were allocated to increase the livestock population. Currently, loans of up to 5 billion soums are being provided for projects for a period of ten years at a 10 percent interest rate.

The proposal of Karakalpak livestock breeders to increase the loan amount up to 50 billion soums for establishing complexes with 1 to 2 thousand heads of livestock was supported.

Livestock breeders from Beruniy expressed readiness to import 5,000 heads of livestock if the conditions for compensating the air transportation of cattle are eased. Now, 10 percent of the cost of pedigree bulls imported to Karakalpakstan by plane, up to 4 million soums per head, will be subsidized.

Within a month, projects for livestock complexes with at least 100,000 heads of cattle, with specific locations, initiators, and funding identified, will be prepared. The procedure for allocating loans for purchasing cattle will be simplified, and funds will be provided based on the conclusion of the district headquarters.

In Takhtakupir, fodder cultivation will be established based on the Xinjiang experience.

5,000 heads of sheep and goats will be imported from Mongolia, Turkey, China, and Australia to be bred under Karakalpakstan's conditions. For this purpose, instructions were given to allocate 1,000 hectares of land within a month.

The task was set to formulate projects on 10-15 thousand hectares by the end of the year and to establish the breeding of 100,000 heads of sheep and goats within a year.

The President noted that he visited the activities of the "Kegeyli naslli parranda" (Kegeyli pedigree poultry) enterprise yesterday. To support the entrepreneur, instructions were given to increase poultry production capacity by 2-3 times within a year and to transform the enterprise into a holding. The issue of necessary funding will be resolved.

Courses teaching poultry farming will be organized at the technical school in Kegeyli.
