Use of social networks by children under 15 being banned in Greece

In Greece, starting January 1, 2027, the use of social networks by children under 15 years of age will be banned. The country's parliament approved the relevant bill.

The project was introduced by Minister of State Akis Skertsos, and the majority of deputies supported it at the plenary session.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced in April that such a ban was being considered. He explained this with concerns about children's mental health.

Earlier, it was reported that starting November 1, the use of social networks by children under 15 would be restricted in Turkey.

Such restrictions and bans are also planned to be introduced in Germany, Denmark, Spain, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.
