In Fergana, a person who promised a khokim (district governor) position for $210,000 has been detained

In the Fergana region, a person who promised to secure a khokim position in exchange for $210,000 has been detained. This was reported by the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office.

It is reported that citizen S.A. gained the trust of citizen I.D., introduced himself as an assistant to a judge of the Arbitration Court of Uzbekistan, and claimed that through his allegedly high-ranking acquaintances, he could secure him the position of khokim of the Uchkuprik district in exchange for 210,000 US dollars.

He was caught with material evidence while receiving $100,000 of the agreed money.

Regarding these circumstances, a criminal case has been initiated under Articles 25, 168 (fraud) and 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative proceedings are underway.
