In Andijan, seven employees of a center for children with disabilities were fired after reports of bullying emerged.

A scandal erupted in the Andijan region surrounding the "Gamkhorlik" center for children with disabilities, located in the Kurgantepa district. The investigation was prompted by videos that circulated on social media on August 31st, which documented instances of physical and psychological abuse against residents.

Specialists from the regional office of the National Agency for Social Protection conducted an investigation into the published materials. As a result, the employment contracts of six teachers and one nurse were terminated. Personnel decisions also affected management—officials who failed to ensure proper supervision of staff were disciplined.

To ensure the safety of children, the facility has implemented a range of additional measures. All residents were examined by doctors from the regional medical association, and new CCTV cameras were installed in the playgrounds and on the center's grounds. The Gamkhorlik centers were established on the premises of the former Muruvvat boarding schools as part of a major reform of the social welfare system. Currently, the competent authorities are continuing to investigate all the circumstances of the incident based on official inquiries.
