In Andijan, a prevention inspector set fire to a citizen's house due to a personal feud
The incident occurred in the Izboskan district. A man, who worked as a prevention inspector for the Oltinkoʻl district Department of Internal Affairs, went to the home of a person with whom he had a grudge in the middle of the night while under the influence of alcohol. He first broke the window of the house. He then lit a piece of paper, threw it inside, and fled the scene.

In Andijan, a man who set fire to someone else's house due to a personal grudge has been criminally punished. He was an officer of the Department of Internal Affairs (IIB).
According to the court verdict, 24-year-old S.Gʻ. worked as a prevention inspector in the Ganjiravon neighborhood of the Oltinkoʻl district until April 20, 2026. On the night of April 17, he went to the Toshkechik neighborhood of the Izboskan district and set fire to the house of a person with whom he had a personal grudge.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was in the household, S.Gʻ. first broke the window of the house. He then lit a piece of paper in his hand, threw it inside the house through the window, and fled the scene. As a result, a fire broke out in the household, causing 170 million soums in material damage.
In court, S.Gʻ. fully pleaded guilty and stated that the person he had a grudge against was his ex-girlfriend's husband.
"I was dating S.N. between 2022 and 2024. After that girl married someone else, I cut off contact. In the autumn of 2025, while I was going to the hospital with my mother, the driver of a Damas car, whom I later found out to be J., cut me off. I told him to drive carefully. He looked at me, swore, and insulted my mother. Because of my mother's illness, I did not argue at that time and left.
Later, I inquired about that guy and found out that J. was my ex-girlfriend's husband. After that, a grudge arose against him. I went to his village and inquired about his house, where he lived, and what he did for a living.
On the night of April 16, 2026, I consumed alcohol. I remembered J. swearing at my mother. I removed the license plate of my car and went to J.'s village.
I inspected his residential home. Knowing that no one was in the house, I broke the window with a stone. I lit the paper I had brought with me and threw it inside through the broken window," S.Gʻ. said in his testimony.
The former officer stated that he did not intend to kill J., that he did this after learning that no one was in the house, and asked the court for leniency.
By the verdict of the Izboskan District Criminal Court, S.Gʻ. was found guilty under Article 173, Part 2, Clause "v" of the Criminal Code (intentional destruction of or damage to property). He was sentenced to 2.5 years of deprivation of liberty. Additionally, it was ordered to recover 170 million soums in material damage from S.Gʻ. in favor of the victim.
