“Foreign-funded projects in Afghanistan served foreign interests” — Zabihullah Mujahid

Foreign countries implemented development projects in Afghanistan solely for their own interests. This was stated by Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid.

Speaking at the launch of a transport project in Kandahar, Mujahid said that major projects are now being funded by Afghanistan's domestic budget. He emphasized that these projects are based on the needs of the Afghan people.

“Development in the country will change the face of Afghanistan. All of these projects are being implemented at the expense of Afghanistan's own budget. Our projects do not depend on any country and are not being carried out at anyone's request. They are based on the needs of Afghans,” Mujahid said.

Kandahar Transport Director Mawlawi Adam said that the Ministry of Transport has important road management projects in Kandahar, as in other regions of the country. They promise to ensure the quality of work.

Local residents also emphasize that major development projects are important in reducing poverty. Mirza Sultani, a resident of Kandahar, said that major projects create jobs and help protect people from poverty. He added that along with development, ensuring employment is important.

Another citizen, Abdul Latif, stated that this project of the Ministry of Transport will serve to organize the city, create jobs and conveniences.
