Hunting Licenses in Uzbekistan to Go Digital

Uzbekistan will change the procedure for hunting and issuing hunting licenses. The document itself will be digitized, and new rules will be introduced for hunting grounds regarding the harvesting of wild animals raised and released into the wild.

According to the new law, the license can be obtained by capable citizens over the age of 18 who have completed special training courses for hunters and successfully passed a test. The document will be issued through the Single Portal of Interactive State Services — my.gov.uz.

The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change will issue the license for a period of two years. Its renewal will be possible upon the owner's application.

Hunting itself will be permitted only in territories assigned to hunting grounds, as well as in free hunting areas. Their list will be determined by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change.

A separate procedure is provided for enterprises that independently raise wild animals in nurseries. If the animals they release adapt to the assigned hunting grounds, the enterprise will be able to organize their harvesting throughout the year, except during the breeding season.

The number of harvested animals must not exceed the number of released ones. At the same time, a separate permit for their capture will not be required.

The breeding season will be determined based on the conclusion of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan introduced a ban on hunting rare and endangered species of wild animals.
