Greenhouse owners in Uzbekistan will be offered soft loans of up to three billion soums
In Uzbekistan, greenhouse farms and owners of household greenhouses will be offered soft loans of up to three billion soums, subsidies, tax incentives, and compensation for part of their electricity costs.
The support measures were reviewed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a presentation on the implementation of "green" technologies in the greenhouse sector.
To install eco-friendly and energy-efficient equipment, greenhouse farms will be offered subsidies of up to 50 million soums per hectare and soft loans of up to three billion soums for a period of seven years. Plans also include reducing the costs of purchasing and installing environmental monitoring equipment.
Separate measures are provided for household greenhouses in Tashkent and adjacent areas. Until 2030, it is proposed to reduce land and property taxes for such farms by 50%, exempt them from turnover tax, and compensate half of the electricity costs consumed by energy-saving systems.
It is planned to allocate grants of up to 100 million soums to households in Tashkent and adjacent areas for the implementation of "green" energy sources and the installation of efficient equipment. In addition, it is proposed to provide soft loans of up to 300 million soums for the construction of new eco-friendly greenhouses and up to 150 million soums for the modernization of existing ones.
Another initiative involves creating environmentally safe greenhouses for families in need across 50 mahallas specializing in greenhouse farming.
The presentation also discussed expanding sales markets for greenhouse produce in both domestic and international markets. Responsible officials were instructed to develop appropriate measures.
