German companies in Uzbekistan paid 5.1 trillion soums in taxes in eight months
The volume of taxes paid by enterprises with the participation of German capital in Uzbekistan increased by 8 percent compared to a year earlier.
It is noted that currently about 300 German companies are operating in the republic. They employ 46.6 thousand workers.
"This indicator shows positive dynamics compared to the corresponding period of last year. The payroll fund increased by almost 7 percent," the report says.
In January-August, enterprises with the participation of German capital paid more than 5.1 trillion soums in taxes. This indicator increased by 8 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
"The amount of refunded value-added tax (VAT) amounted to about 219 billion soums, which is more than two-thirds higher than last year's figure. At the same time, the companies utilized more than 1.3 trillion soums in tax benefits," the committee announced.
It was also emphasized that competitive tax rates are maintained in Uzbekistan. In particular, corporate income tax is levied at a rate of 15 percent, and VAT at 12 percent.
According to the data, an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation has been in force between Uzbekistan and Germany since 1999.
A number of joint investment and educational projects have been launched in the presence of the leaders of the two countries. These include projects such as establishing semi-knocked-down assembly of Volkswagen cars in Tashkent, building a logistics center in Andijan region, producing liquid household detergents, training specialists for the railway sector, and opening modern examination centers.
