Georgian Designer Accuses Centrum Air of Using His Logo Without Permission

Georgian designer Sandro Laliashvili stated that the Uzbek airline Centrum Air is using a swallow image he created in 2020 in its corporate identity without obtaining the appropriate permission.

According to the designer, the original work was published in his portfolio long before a similar image appeared in the airline's visual identity. Laliashvili claims that the company is using his design without consent and without paying compensation.

The designer reported that he had repeatedly tried to contact Centrum Air's management to settle the situation directly; however, according to him, he received no response. After unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, he decided to publicly state his claims on social media.

The situation could become the subject of proceedings in the field of intellectual property protection. Using someone else's copyrighted work without the rights holder's consent can entail legal consequences. At the same time, a visual similarity between images is not in itself sufficient proof of copyright infringement.

At present, the allegations originate from the designer. Centrum Air's official position on this situation has not been presented, and the fact of copyright infringement has not been established.
