Gault&Millau may evaluate restaurants and hotels in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan and Gault&Millau discussed restaurant and hotel evaluations, the release of a national gastronomic guide, and the country's promotion on the international market.

Gault & Millau may evaluate restaurants and hotels in Uzbekistan.
On August 27, Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, and Vladislav Skvortsov, Vice President and Co-Founder of the Gault & Millau Group, discussed prospects for cooperation in gastronomic tourism and the development of the hospitality industry. The parties also explored the possibility of promoting Uzbekistan's national gastronomy at an international professional level, according to the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
One of the key proposals was an independent evaluation of restaurants and hotels in Uzbekistan by Gault & Millau experts. According to the concept being discussed, specialists from the international guide will conduct anonymous inspections, and their results and recommendations may be published in international and national media outlets.
Gault & Millau is a French gastronomic guide, founded in 1969 by journalists Henri Gault and Christian Millau. The publication publishes the Guide Jaune (Yellow Guide) and is considered one of the most renowned international restaurant guides, along with Michelin.
The brand is currently represented in 21 countries. According to the Tourism Committee, its database includes approximately 16,000 restaurants, the network employs approximately 400 inspectors, and an audience of approximately 20 million subscribers.
The parties also discussed the development of a national gastronomic guide for Uzbekistan. The publication is expected to be 200-250 pages long, published in Uzbek and English, and will have a circulation of 2,500 copies.
Another potential area of collaboration could be the creation of a special digital section dedicated to Uzbekistan on the international Gault&Millau platform. It is planned to present national restaurants, hotels, and gastronomic products to an international audience.
The parties believe that the implementation of these initiatives will provide independent international assessment of Uzbekistan's restaurant and hotel industry and expand the country's reputation as a gastronomic destination.
Furthermore, this collaboration could help increase the presence of the Uzbek gastronomy industry on the international digital platform Gault&Millau and attract the attention of foreign tourists, representatives of the professional community, and the media.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in long-term cooperation and agreed to continue coordinating joint events and projects.
