At the exhibition, Gulfstream Aerospace also announced another major milestone in the G400 program — the first flight of a fully outfitted test aircraft.
The aircraft took off from Dallas Love Field Airport in the US. The flight lasted 2 hours and 46 minutes, reaching an altitude of 14.6 kilometers.
The test aircraft's cabin is designed for 11 passengers, with the interior divided into two and a half zones, according to the company's description. During the flight, specialists tested the operation of onboard cabin systems at altitude, their functionality, and passenger comfort.
The twin-engine G400 business jet has a range of 7,780 kilometers. The takeoff of the fully outfitted aircraft marked the next step in the certification program.
In a meeting with journalists, Gulfstream Aerospace President Mark Burns did not give a specific timeframe for obtaining certification. However, he stated that the program is "progressing very well" and that he sees no issues that could threaten certification.
A total of four aircraft are expected to be involved in the G400 flight test program. The result of the Miami - Las Vegas flight was announced as a route record specifically between these cities.
